Xu Yuan Garden

Built in 1915 at the former site of the Peach Harbour of the Qing Dynasty, Xu Yuan Garden is a lakeside garden to memorize Xu Baoshan, a local celebrity and warlord of the Period of Republic of China.

Small Golden Hill

As the largest island on the Slender Westlake, the Small Golden Hill boasts plentiful landscape sites, including the Wind Pavilion, Moon-view Terrace, the Flute Pavilion and the Music Hall, all of which are evidence of the long history of Yangzhou Garden arts.

Lotus Bridge and the White Dagoba

The Lotus Bridge, alias the Five-Pavilion Bridge, is a landmark architect of the city which was built in 1757. The White Dagoba to the proximity was built in 1784 as a Tibetan-Style Buddhist tower. Legend has it that it was built within one night. Both the bridge and the dagoba are Key Cultural relics under national-level protection.

The Twenty-Four-Bridge Scenic Area

Known to the world because of Tang Dynasty Poet Du Mu’s line, I long for the beautiful girl playing the flute at the Twenty-Four-Bridge under the bright moon, the Scenic Area was rebuilt in 1991 consisting of the Spring Hall, the Twenty-Four Bridge, General Li’s Painting Sketch, Spring-Viewing Terrace, and the Charming Flower Garden.

Clear Waterfalls over the Stone Cliffs

Salt merchant Xu Shiye of Yangzhou piled up yellow stones to make a scene of rocks and waterfalls in his residence, which was appreciated by Emperor Qianlong and offered the name Water and Bamboo Residence. It is known as one of the 24 scenic spots along the Slender Westlake.

Flower Spring Island

One of the 24 scenic spots along the Slender Westlake, it was a private home of Yangzhou Mayor Zhang Zhengzhi of the Qianlong period, which was described as ‘Double springs gauge in the water, creating shining waves.’

Yangzhou Style Potted Landscape Museum

Consisting of indoor, outdoor show areas as well as Masters’ workshop, here on display are over 2,000 pieces of landscape artwork. In 2013 the 50th Bonsai Convention International was held here.

Miniature Water systems Park

The Park was built and opened to the public on April 1st 2016 to showcase the main water systems including the Yangtze River, the Canal and the Slender Westlake as well as the landmark architecture along the waters. Visitors get a full vision of the water-borne city after touring the park.
